COVID-19 has led a nationwide theme of ‘work from home.
Now that we are spending a lot more time at home we need to ensure our home is organised and in order. We have some amazing ideas to get your organisational skills to the next level.
1. Have a weekly planner
Our personal favourites are the weekly planners. Don’t just limit that to work tasks. Use meal planner. You can find various templates online to get you started. Sitting down on a Sunday to organise your upcoming appointments and dinner plans makes grocery shopping easier and evidently avoids food wastage.
2. Switch off after work
Working from home does not needs to be stressful.
Practise switching off after completing your day. Make a to-do list for the next day and switch off once dotted.
3. Pantry cupboard organisation.
Having an organised pantry will not only be aesthetic pleasing but also make monitoring your food consumption so much easier. Our suggestion is a simple Kmart visit, where you can get container packs as well as $2 food labels.
4. Choosing to de-clutter
There are many benefits to owning fewer possessions. Less to clean and less to organise. Our tips around de-cluttering is, discard one item a day. Over a year this will be 365 items.
5. Donate clothes you no longer wear
Not sure what items of clothing to part with? Turn all of your coat hangers in the reverse direction. After a few months, discard the clothes you haven’t worn and still in the opposite direction.
6. Don’t forget your drawers!
More often than not, our kitchen drawers become piled high with items that don’t have a proper place in the home. Add dividers and try sort items neatly. The items will still be random but at least neatly organised.
Being organised increases your productivity. It improves the communication between you and others such as your family and friends work etc. Being organised saves time and keeps you focused on more important tasks that need to be done and that have a higher priority.
Being organised extends to most parts of your life and has a lot of effect on how you live your day to day life. It can reduce stress as there is no scrambling around and last-minute running around for unnecessary stress that could be solved simply by organising your household, as people say an organised life equals an organised mind.
Being organised can help with a lot of overall things that can affect your life such as mental health, anxiety, productivity, work and home relationships.
Living in an organised house helps to a positive day when you wake up in the morning to going to home at night. The more organised your house is the more organised your everyday life is.
